Reconciliation
The sacrament of Confession is to be celebrated monthly at least six months prior to receiving Confirmation and Eucharist. The Faith and Life Series and Vivos en Christos for 1st and 2nd grade has lessons on Baptism, Reconciliation, and the Holy Eucharist. Students will learn about these sacraments in their regular CCD classes using the required materials.
Reconciliation or Penance
“Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God’s mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion.” (CCC 1422)
First Penance is available for all baptized Catholics who are above the age of reason (7 years old).
